I Bill Hinds, Lead Member for Finance and Support Services, in exercise of the powers contained within the Council Constitution do hereby:

Approve the extension of the qualifying age under the current Care Leaver Council Tax Discount Scheme to a Care Leavers 25th birthday

The Reasons are: To ensure the scheme compliments the extension to the  council’s corporate parenting responsibilities  .

Options considered and rejected were: Not to extend the scheme.

Assessment of Risk: Looked after children and young people are amongst the most vulnerable groups in our community. As corporate parent, the council has a responsibility to improve their ongoing life chances which includes supporting them to transition into adult life.

The source of funding is Collection Fund.
