Decision:

Salford City Council - Record of Decision (CABINET)

I, Paul Dennett, City Mayor, in consultation with Cabinet and in exercise of the powers contained within the City Council constitution do hereby:

Confirm the adoption of the revised Salford Greenspace Strategy Supplementary Planning Document to become a material consideration for development proposals that affect an open space, with immediate effect and to guide future investment and enhancements.

The Reasons are that the city council has undertaken a review of Salford Greenspace Strategy Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) which was adopted in 2006. The revised Greenspace Strategy has been subject to public consultation, which has resulted in minor changes to the document.

Options considered and rejected: No other options were considered for this report

Assessment of Risk is low.

The SPD has been reviewed to reflect changes since it was adopted in 2006 including updated demand evidence and emerging policies of Salford Draft Local Plan.

Existing budgets will be used for minimal printing of the document.

Decision:

Salford City Council - Record of Decision (CABINET)

I, Paul Dennett, City Mayor, in consultation with the Cabinet and in exercise of the powers contained within the City Council constitution do hereby and in accordance with the provisions of the Schools Standard and Framework Act 1998 approve:

1. The proposed changes to Salford’s admission arrangements for the Academic

year 2020/21 are agreed for determination:

a) To include ‘children adopted outside of England’ as second highest

priority within the oversubscription criteria for community and

    voluntary controlled primary and secondary schools;

2. It be noted that there are no significant changes to the Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme for 2020/2.

The Reasons are to enable the City Council to ensure that the Local Authority is able to fulfil its statutory duty in relation to school admission arrangements.

Options considered and rejected were to retain the current admission arrangements.

Assessment of Risk: If the City Council does not approve the school admission arrangements for 2020, then the City Council would not be fulfilling its statutory duty in relation to determining school admission arrangements for those schools for whom it is the admission authority.
