Disposal of Cleveland House, 224 Eccles Old Road, Salford M6 8EJ

 

I, Councillor John Merry, Deputy City Mayor, in exercise of the powers contained within the City Council constitution do hereby:

 

1. Confirm and approve the selection of bidder 1 as the preferred purchaser of the subject property.

 

2. Delegate authority to the Strategic Director of Place and officers to negotiate and finalise the Heads of Terms to allow the completion of the arrangements as detailed in this report

 

3. Authorise the City Solicitor to progress and complete the associated legal formalities and the taking of all steps required to give effect to the above recommendations.

 

4. Authorise officers to inform the remaining bid’s that they have been unsuccessful.

 

The Reasons are: To disposal of a long-term vacant property while receiving a Capital Receipt. In addition to this the preferred purchaser has demonstrated the deliverability of their proposal, so the disposal will ensure a sustainable long-term use for the property.

I, Councillor John Merry, Deputy City Mayor, in exercise of the powers contained within the Salford City Council constitution do hereby give approval to enter into an agreement with Global to renew the existing contract for a Digital 48 sheet advertising display located on the grassed area on the A57, adjacent to the Red Rose Industrial Park.

 

The Reasons are that the current agreement for the 48-sheet digital billboard display, located on the grassed area on the A57, Regent Road, adjacent to the Red Rose Industrial Park, is due to expire on 23rd February 2023. Global have put forward a proposal to renew the agreement for a further ten-year period, the rent offered has been benchmarked and is deemed to be acceptable.

I, Councillor John Merry, Deputy City Mayor, in exercise of the powers contained within the Salford City Council constitution do hereby notethe proposals and terms and agree entering into an agreement with Global to renew the existing contract for three advertising panels located on land at the junction of Blackfriars Road and Chapel Street, Salford.

 

The Reasons are that the current agreement with Primesight, for the three existing billboards located on land at the corner of Blackfriars Road and Chapel Street, is due to expire on 18thSeptember 2024. Global (formally Primesight) have put forward a proposal to renew the agreement for a further ten-year period, the rent offered has been benchmarked and is deemed to

be acceptable.
