I Councillor Tracy Kelly, Deputy City Mayor, in exercise of the powers contained within the City Council constitution do hereby approvethe proposed programmes of work for the Highways Investment Programme (HIP) for 2021/22

The Reasons are to facilitate continuous improvement of the highway infrastructure as part of the defined Network Recovery Plan as part of the ongoing rolling programme of repair works

Options considered and rejected were: No other options were considered for this report.

 

Assessment of Risk: Low – The targeted spend of available funding will ensure that the City Council’s statutory obligations are met while at the same time facilitating continuous improvement of the highway infrastructure.

 

The source of funding is: Prudential Code funding (Capital)

I Councillor Tracy Kelly, Deputy City Mayor, in exercise of the powers contained within the City Council constitution do hereby;

 

1.    Note the updates to the draft City Centre Transport Strategy following public consultation

 

2.    Endorse the final City Centre Transport Strategy for publication, subject to approvals from Manchester City Council and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority

 

3.    Delegate to officers, in discussion with officers from Manchester City Council and Transport for Greater Manchester, any minor final amendments to the strategy resulting from feedback during the approvals process

 

The Reasons are Transport for Greater Manchester, with Salford and Manchester City Council’s, have finalised the City Centre Transport Strategy. This specifically includes the outcome of a public consultation event at the end of 2020 and the arising changes to the draft strategy which has the following vision:

 

“Our Vision is for a well-connected zero carbon city centre at the heart of the North, offering our residents, employees and visitors a great place to work, live and visit”
