Decision:

Salford City Council - Record of Decision

 

I, Councillor Derek Antrobus, Lead Member for Planning and Sustainable Development, in exercise of the powers contained within the Council Constitution, do hereby overrule the objections and authorise the making of the Traffic Regulation Order to introduce the CITY OF SALFORD (SOUTH ORDSALL AREA, ORDSALL) (PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LIMITED WAITING PARKING PLACES AND AMENDMENT) ORDER 2018 in the form set out in the Report.

 

The Reasons are: To improve road safety by maintaining sight lines and access at various junctions and sections of narrow carriageway around the South Ordsall area, and increase turnover of vehicles on Ordsall Lane and Hulton Street for all road users.

 

Assessment of Risk:   The proposed restrictions will improve road safety at the junctions by decreasing the risk of collisions and improve access.

 

The source of funding is – the approved Highways Block 3 devolved capital allocation for Ordsall and Langworthy, in the 2018/19 financial year.

If the decision is made to implement the above proposals, these should not give rise to any legal implications provided the works are carried out in accordance with the appropriate statutory requirements set out in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
