Tootal Road, John Atkinson Court, Myrtle Leaf Grove, Birch Leaf Grove - TRO 2158. Decision: Salford City Council - Record of Decision
I, Cllr Derek Antrobus, Lead Member for Planning and Sustainable Development, in exercise of the powers contained within the City Council constitution do hereby over rule the objections and authorise the making of the Traffic Regulation Order to introduce No Waiting at Any Time Parking restrictions on Tootal Road and a number of associated streets in Weaste & Seedley, as set out in the notice of proposals.
The Reasons are: To improve road safety by maintaining sight lines and access at the junctions of Tootal Drive with Birch Leaf Grove, Mytrle Leaf Grove and John Atkinson Court; addressing access concerns for vehicles turning into the three roads and ensuring that footways are clear at all times for pedestrians to use the existing crossing provision.
Assessment of Risk: The proposed restrictions will improve road safety by decreasing the risk of collisions and improve accessibility.
The source of funding is– to be met from the Block 3 Highways Capital allocation of the Claremont & Weaste devolved budget from the 2017/18 financial year.
Where objections are received by the Council following the advertisement of proposals, the decision regarding the implementation of the proposals is delegated to the relevant Lead Member for determination, following consultation with the Council’s Traffic Advisory Panel. Duly considering any objection through this procedure should not give rise to any legal implications.
