Salford City Council - Record of Decision

I David Lancaster, Lead Member for Environment and Community Safety, in exercise of the powers contained within the Salford City Council Constitution and the City Mayors Register of Executive Functions Delegated to Lead Members do hereby approve the adoption of the revised street trading policy under Schedule 4 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982. Salford City Council initially adopted Schedule 4 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 on the 15th February 1984 and made all streets within the city ‘consent’ streets.

Options considered and rejected:  The initial proposal was to add ‘licensed’ streets to the current street trading policy.  Following the extensive consultation the feedback received from the Highways Authority was such that it was not financially viable to implement this element of the policy revisions.
