To hear an application for a Premises Licence:

Decision: 

To grant the application as amended for sale of alcohol on and off the premises with conditions consistent with the operating schedule.

Reasons:

The Committee took into account the fact that the Applicant had engaged with the objectors and was keen to make this a community-based shop which attracted and served local residents.  The Committee noted that the hours applied for were modest and in keeping with the type of premises the Applicant described as intending to operate.

The Committee took into account the fact that 8 pm is not a noise sensitive time and considered that even if all customers were dispersed together at that time this should not cause a noise nuisance to local residents in the area and that the Applicant was intending to take measures to remind patrons to leave the premises quietly and respect the local area.   

The Committee considered the Applicant to be a responsible operator who intended to engage with local residents and therefore it was appropriate to grant the application as amended as it did not consider that the licence granted on these terms should undermine the licensing objectives.
