Decision:

Salford City Council - Record of Decision

I, Councillor Kelly, Statutory Deputy City Mayor and Lead Member for Housing, Property & Regeneration, in exercise of the powers contained within the Council Constitution, do hereby approve:

An exception to Salford’s Private Sector Housing Assistance Policy (PSHAP) to support an application for discretionary top up funding, without a charge, where a mandatory grant of over £30,000 is being approved, with a value up to the discretionary limit (£50,000), considering any contribution from Great Places Housing Group.

The Reasons are:

This approval will support a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) policy exception allowing Salford City Council to apply greater flexibility for Individual A, which will enable the recommended adaptations to be completed thus promoting Individual A’s health, wellbeing and independence.

Not to approve the DFG policy exception regarding Individual A.

Lead Member is requested to approve an exception to Salford’s Private Sector Housing Assistance Policy (PSHAP). This will support an application for discretionary top up funding, without a charge, where a mandatory grant of over £30,000 is being approved. The cost will be met from the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG) and it is anticipated that there is sufficient funding in this year’s programme for this cost to be met.
