Salford Foyer (Places for People + Limited) Nominations Agreement. Decision: Salford City Council - Record of Decision
I, Councillor Tracy Kelly, Statutory Deputy City Mayor and Lead Member for Housing, Property & Regeneration, in exercise of the powers contained within the Council Constitution, do hereby approve:
The City Council entering into a Nominations Agreement with Salford Foyer (Places for People Living + Limited)
Places for People Living + Ltd have secured external funding, along with their own contributions. Places for People Living + Ltd are proposing to extend their temporary supported housing provision (by 6 high quality modular units), at the Salford Foyer site - for young homeless families.
They are seeking no financial contribution/commitment from the City Council. Places for People have offered 100% nomination rights to the Housing Options Service, to ensure that these units are prioritised for young Salford homeless families.
Options considered and rejected were: N/A
Assessment of Risk: Low – there are no financial obligations/commitments from the City Council attached to this agreement.
Legal Advice obtained: Shared Legal Services - There are no legal implications from a homelessness law perspective – the suitability of this accommodation will continue to be judged by the City Council on a case- by-case basis for each individual homeless applicant.
