{meta} ePetition - Salford Healthy Communities Saves Lives

ePetition details

We the undersigned petition the council to To rethink their decision to end the Salford Healthy Communities Prevention of Long Term Conditions Project at the end of March and to continue the work they do to help save lives

We've saved a few people's lives, from cancer screenings, to alerting people that their blood pressure was very high, helping them possibly avoid a stroke. We've helped people to change their lifestyles and just live longer and have smashed all our targets given by the council. we have saved the NHS thousands of £'s because of preventive care.
Despite our success, Salford City Council is proposing to cease the Salford Healthy Communities contract at the end of March, as part of cuts to the Public Health budget to save £250,000. We are Salford based and a not for profit organisation and the contract is now about to expire...
