{meta} ePetition - Permanent Rainbow Road Crossings celebrating our LGBTQ community

ePetition details

We the undersigned petition the council to I would like to propose a pair (or more) of permanent Rainbow/PRIDE road crossings positioned close to Peel Park, the home of Salford's famous PPPP (Peel Park Pink Picnic)

Following on from many other councils across the country, it seems unfortunate that we have not yet created a permanent, visible display to visitors of our City, showing our support to the LGTBTQ+ community. With the success and growth of the PPPP (Peel Park Pink Picnic) gaining national recognition, it seems a shame that we are lagging behind other councils in the country, including my own local council Sutton where I am originally from, in having a PRIDE/Rainbow crossing as a permanent display, showing not only our support and openess to the LGBTQ+ community, but providing a colourful addition to our City. My ideal proposition would be for a pair of rainbow crossings, utilising the existing crossing spaces on the A6 Chapel Street, where the University of Salford & Salford Library & Art Museum are located.
